Well, this won’t happen. If Trump & Vance were to perish, Johnson as SOTH would be the President, followed by Grassley (gasp) as president pro tem of the Senate.
I’d chalk it up as a statistical anomaly; on average, almost no planes are struck by missiles and blown up to smithereens.

My mother is a converted Trumper after being a fairly liberal person in all matters except abortion all her life. Totally fucked up by Fox News and right wing social media over the last ten years.
Today she had a conversation with my brother who is a former climate change activist (from the early 1990s when there were very few of us) but is now a full blown MAGA nut. He got there via libertarian and racist tendencies.
My brother told her that Medicare and Social Security were just discretionary spending like anything else. And if they need to be “restructured” to allow productive people to keep more of their money, that’s what he’s going to support.
She’s shocked at how callous he is being!
They live in the DC Area. My mother has been cheering the government job cuts for the last three weeks. The idea that she isn’t entitled to her social security any more than some Dept of Labor Statistics bureaucrat is entitled to their job is absolutely shocking to her.
‘Sorry mom, you’re a useless eater and I’d set you out on an ice floe if it wasn’t for climate change. MAGA, am I right?’
Not to mention that any equity that she has in her house is going down the drain when when a large proportion of the DC jobs go away.
She’s going to make it up on the cost of home heath care collapsing when we have millions of desperate Real American 
workers and stupid over-regulation is done away with.

My parents were landlords for many years but are now renters in an assisted living place.
My brother is a landlord with dozens of units.
My parents were adamantly opposed to tenants rights, never mind rent control. Now they complain about their rent going up every year beyond the rates they were promised (orally of course) when they moved in. I piously tell her to complain to my brother instead as he might have some ideas about how to negotiate with a rapacious landlord.

I always got a kick out of a restaurant near where I grew up that advertised: “All you care to eat!”

The content is just a brief update about the tariffs, and how they are self inflicted pain
Just last week, somehow, the topic of immigration/ICE came up with my mom. We normally avoid politics, so I don’t know how we got there, but I said “What about the Native Americans that have been detained?” Her reply was that all they have to do is prove they’re citizens". What I wanted to say is "Imagine you and dad get arrested for being illegal aliens and you’re told ‘show me your papers and we’ll release you’, how long would it take you, from a detention facility, to get a hold of your birth certificate?'. I didn’t say it because it was too wordy and, frankly, it was easier to just let the part of the conversation fizzle out. Plus, miss organized would just call one of her kids and tell them exactly where to find it.
Fast forward to this week. She’s updating her driver’s license to a Real ID. She’s spent all week trying to get a new birth certificate because she can’t find hers. The DMV sent her to city hall, city hall sent her to the health department in a different city where birth certificates are kept, she gets a copy, it’s the wrong one and so on. And this is with someone who has the time, money and transportation to be able to run around all week trying to get this sorted out. Imagine trying to do it from a detention facility.
