Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

^ This.

Got it! Johnny_L.A.'s post was clearly written; I just didn’t read it carefully.
Carry on…

I have it on good authority that the Earth is banana shaped. Isn’t this new learning amazing?

How they never saw this coming is beyond me. Trump never hid his incompetence and even displayed it in his first presidency.

The NYSE has always been a place friendly to the conservative, pro-business side of the political ledger, but lately it has become a lot Trumpier. In one firm’s booth, MAGA hats hung on neat white hooks above each Bloomberg terminal and TRUMP was emblazoned on the mouse pads — what Tuchman called the MAGA Pavilion. Recent events, however, had required some extreme mental gymnastics to justify the sledgehammer effect Trump’s tariffs have had on everything from the traders’ retirement savings to the global economic order, which just a week before rested on that rock-solid pillar known as the United States of America. “Most of the floor are Trumpers, and they still think this makes sense, and I still don’t get it,” Tuchman said.

Hell…this is happening right now! (April 21, 10a CST…while the link below says April 20 the article was very recently updated):

Stocks fell again on Monday as President Donald Trump ramped up his attacks on Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, raising questions about the central bank’s independence, while traders received little signs of progress on global trade talks.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average traded 925 points lower, or 2.4%. The S&P 500 shed 2.4%, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.7%.

It’s all those Wall Street Communists selling off their shares.

My brother just posted that this is driven by Pope Francis’ passing! He’s a very successful financial advisor.

Well, when you make money it is cuz god is on your side. When you lose money it is cuz liberalz.

ETA:

Your brother or the (former) Pope?

Can’t get much more “I never expected the leopards to eat my face!” than this:

From the article
"Even at the border, constitutional rights do not disappear. "
Yes they do because

That searches made at the border, pursuant to the longstanding right of the sovereign to protect itself by stopping and examining persons and property crossing into this country, are reasonable simply by virtue of the fact that they occur at the border, should, by now, require no extended demonstration.

That’s from Ramsey in 1977. Since then “the border” has expanded to 100 miles from the border meaning you lose your 4th Amendment rights even if you never cross over into another country.

It’s scary. This is worth a read:

I would note that the original story is at least six weeks old. I’d be really curious to know if she’s managed the necessary gymnastics since then to come around to it being “necessary” for her to be fired.

DOGE job cuts bring pain to Trump heartland | Reuters

I like how, in her 70% Trump voting county, she is now receiving vandalism and death threats for speaking out against the cuts.

What do you expect, she outed herself as part of the waste and fraud that’s been plaguing the nation.

Just more of the parasite class; that’s all she ever was. /s

Her quote

“Nobody that I’ve talked to understood the devastation that having this administration in office would do to our lives,” Piggott, 47, told Reuters in an interview, saying she would not have supported Trump if she knew then what she knows now.

Seriously, how could anyone NOT have seen this. Whether through incompetence, dementia, revenge for losing to Biden, or simply wanting to watch the world burn, everything on 1/6/21 and afterwards has been leading to this.

He led an insurrection to overturn a democratic election that he knew he lost and NOW we are shocked he’s acting like a dictator?

Well, they’re not called low information voters for nothing

I remember seeing there was a spike in Google searches for “tariff” after the election.

I know one Trump fan who thought China and other countries had paid the US $billions in tariffs during Trump’s first term and was all enthusiastic about Trump jacking them up even more when elected again.

Shame they’re not low-certainty voters too.

Oh, they’ll be coming for us soon enough. That’s just a fig leaf.

When i was canvassing for Harris, my partner spoke with an old guy who was really angry that Harris had raised his property taxes. Yes, the taxes his county set that had nothing to do with the federal government, let alone the VP. I’m his mind, she had personally raised his taxes.

People live in different worlds.

Is it possible that he said he “didn’t like Harris because he was raised in Texas”?

That, at least I could understand
