Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

Fourth law of thermodyna[meats]: [meat] on you if [meat] off me.

What happens when Trump runs out of Fox ‘’‘News’‘’ hosts for cabinet positions?

Maybe he’ll go full circle and recruit OANN and NewsMax personalities, then it’s on to the disgraced podcasters.

There’s the Sex Offenders Registry; he’d find lots of spiritual brethren there to recruit.

But that wasn’t because he actually had principles. He was still playing by the norms and traditions rules. It was early in the admin, before the “but what if we didn’t” plan threw out the norms. I’m sure he regrets it to this day.

A very well-written discussion of loyalty and what it means to Trump. It’s still astonishing to me that the people close to him have no pattern recognition.

If they had pattern recognition they’d know better than to be close to him. It’s a self-selecting group.

The loyalist trap is this: you believe that proximity to power is the same as protection from power.

Yeesh. Whatever happened to “the closer you are the Caesar, the greater the fear”?

…and now I can’t help but wonder, is that line really original to The Thin Red Line? Seems like it ought to be from something.

She had best grifted well. No decent person will hire her. But she could get elected in a county or state I suppose.

Is there a liars club?

It would be on brand for the trump Presidentin’ library to have errors in the signage. Only the best people!

“The John F Kennedy Trump ‘Library’ (no books allowed)”

I can hardly wait until his name gets ripped off of everything. I would like for him to be alive to see it.

the second time, he hired entirely for loyalty.

Or, in the case of females, how physically attracted he was to them.

So based on the direction of the country in recent years, she has nothing to worry about.

Which is a shame. (Something else we as a country have been lacking in recent years.)

We have traded shame in for sham.

Another case of “loyalty” that wasn’t rewarded: Sen. Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.

Cassidy probably sealed his fate by a vote to impeach Trump. All of Cassidy’s subsequent sycophantic groveling before Trump, including voting to confirm his choice of virulent loon RFK Jr. as HHS Secretary, didn’t prevent Trump from endorsing an opponent in the upcoming LA primary.

What really astonished me about this affair was the idea that not paying contractors for work previously agreed to and completed could actually be a thing, due only to political changes. Doesn’t that flout the very idea of what a contract is?

If a person has a sufficiently distorted (sociopathic, for instance) concept of what makes up a contract, it works out fine.

If, for instance, someone feels that a good contract is when they get everything they want and the other part gets fuck-all, that’s how they’ll treat the contract unless someone can apply some type of coersion to the contrary.

This.

In DJT World, every transaction (even a handshake) has a winner and a loser. The two parties cannot come out even and mutually satisfied. When they go into the transaction, one side may think will be a fair, agreed-upon outcome, but Donnie knows better. He has his tiny fingers crossed behind his back. He doesn’t feel bound by any such agreements–he HAS to be the winner. He has demonstrated this throughout his whole life.

In the Orange Peril’s world, if the other party gets ANYTHING, he’s a loser. Which is not to be borne.
