The first hard drive I ever saw for a PC held 5MB and cost $1500. It was at Comdex in 1982. When we set up a student computing lab in 1987, we had a 20MB hard disk for the whole lab, shared among a dozen computers and that included the space for the networking software. When we upgraded to 80MB, we breathed a lot easier. By the mid '90s, so many students had their own PC that we closed the lab.
