Survivor: Fiji - Ep. 4: "Let's Just Call Jeff On The Jeff Phone"

CRAP!!! CRAPCRAPCRAP

I thought yesterday was weds. Even went to bed thinking …Survivor tomorrow!

CRAP

Liliana was voted out?

Do they show the episode again?

If you have digital cable, Survivor is on On Demand.

Or, you can click on rockle’s link to CBS.com, where it appears that there is a link (may have to click on more than one link to find it) to the Innertube which will allow you to view the episode.

The difference, though, is that Lisi made a point of saying that she is Latina herself, and so she “knows how we think,” or something to that effect.

I did not know that.

She still seems a bitch, though. To me it sounded as if the other tribe members were concerned about Gary’s health both personally, and how it would affect the game. Lisi seemed concerned that she, personally, would become a ‘babysitter’. She just doesn’t seem to be a very nice person.

This whole season has been a real snoozer.

I’m a little surprised that the “winning” tribe had to vote someone off or give up their comfort. What kind of victory is that? What would they have done if the other tribe would have won?

I think a while back I mentioned that my son had proposed something like the winning tribe would get immunity but would have to send someone to exile. And someone responded that that would be against the nature of Survivor - to essentially punish someone for winning.

That confused me too. What if the other tribe had won? They have no ‘comfort’ to give up. Did they have different prizes depending on who won?

Well, technically the note wasn’t really phrased “give up comfort.” It was a choice: keep immunity and live on Ravu beach, or give up immunity and live on Moto beach. It would have worked just as a well as a choice had Ravu won.

So had Ravu won, they would have the choice of going back to tribal council and then going to sleep in luxury, or keeping their newly won immunity and staying where they were (as it would happen if there were no bottle)

Did anyone besides me cheer a little for Yau Man when he planted his face right in Rita’s bosom during the crossover-the-beam challenge?

Yes, I am pervert.

No – if Ravu had won, and they picked the luxury camp, they wouldn’t have had to vote anybody out. The choices were, basically, switch or vote someone out. In either case? This challenge was basically designed to favor Ravu (or at least cut them some slack in some way). In three out of four possible scenarios, Ravu ended up with the better deal:

[ol]
[li]Ravu wins challenge & elects to switch camps – Ravu wouldn’t have to vote anyone out, AND they get to switch to the Pleasure Palace – plus, Moto would have to vote someone out (ideal scenario Ravu because they lose no one and gain comfort, and Moto loses a person)[/li][li]Moto wins challenge & elects to switch camps – Ravu would have to vote someone out, because Moto would remain immune, but Ravu would move into the Pleasure Palace (less good for Ravu, but better, because they gain comfort)[/li][li]Moto wins challenge & elects to keep their camp – Moto has to vote someone out, but all other things remain equal (slightly better for Ravu because there are now fewer Motos)[/li][li]Ravu wins & elects to keep their camp – only option where Ravu does not benefit – Ravu would have to vote someone out, and Moto would remain at Pleasure Palace[/li][/ol]
I’m also willing to bet that this was a scheduled double-elimination week. If Gary hadn’t had to leave the game, I bet both tribes would have had to vote someone out, and the only option for the winning tribe would have been whether or not to switch camps. Which Moto would not have done, I don’t think. Again, with the home-field advantage.
