Romeo might have got a vote if he took Jonathan and Mike beat Maryanne at firemaking, which was probable.
Maybe. Would have been interesting to see how the vote would shake out with Romeo, Mike, and Jonathan.
But Mike succeeded in convincing Romeo that Jonathan was unbeatable and ended up with the final three he wanted. That was actually a really smart move; he just miscalculated MaryAnne’s chances.
I think Mike wins, to be honest. Lindsey obviously hates Jonathan, and I don’t think she’s the only one. Jonathan is very easy to paint as a “challenge only” player.
Which means two seasons in a row we have a male player (although obviously very different male players) assuming that they can beat the female player and being dead wrong. And we actually sort of have it twice this season with both Mike and Romeo thinking that having Maryanne there is better than having Jonathan.
I didn’t watch the recap, and I doubt they would ever come out and say it, but I also wonder if Romeo, to some extent, preferred Maryanne to win. He had to know he was very unlikely to win the final vote, so by keeping Maryanne he can at least influence the winner.
