Prior to Step by Step, she also starred in She’s the Sheriff, which was specifically a vehicle for her, and while it was apparently pretty bad, it lasted for two seasons.
(Step by Step, was, ostensibly, set in my mom’s home town in Wisconsin, though I don’t think they ever actually shot anything there.)
