Switching Bodies

Xena did some body-switching between Calisto & Xena - basically shooting around Lucy Lawless because of an accident while filming a shot for Leno, I think?

Yup…the Prisoner episode was “Do Not Forsake Me Oh My Darling,” and the transmogrified Number Six was played by Nigel Stock.

Never heard of the teevee series “Turnabout,” but it’s obviously based on the same Thorne Smith novel as the 1940 film. I seem to remember that a small statue of the Buddha was responsible for the magical switch in the book.

Yes, it did. It was in black and white, so I assume that makes it first season. The castaways were taken to the island of a mad scientist who swapped all their minds. They escaped, restored their minds to their proper bodies, and wound up back at their own island.

All I remember about the matchups is that Mr. Howell went into Gilligan’s body and Ginger’s mind was put in the body of the scientist’s brutish assistant. Thusly, Ginger was strong enough to break chains and bend iron bars to free the others.

Ukulele Ike, don’t feel bad for not recalling the Turnabout sitcom; it lasted maybe four episodes in 1979.

I remember it being in color, from the third season.

**Face/Off **
(sort of)

Not to mention:

On Buffy the Vampire Slayer: “This Year’s Girl,” “Who Are You,” and, in a way, the whole Angel/Angelus arc. Also “The Pack,” if switching bodies with animals count.

Angel: “Carpe Noctem”

and, of course, the episode of Smallville that just finished airing. (I totally thought this thread was about that when I opened it.)

Australian movie featuring Guy Pearce and Claudia Karvan where they were boyfriend/girlfriend and switched bodies. Can’t recall the name of it.

Also, the kids TV series from the early 80s (late 70s?), Big, John, Little John, but thats not quite a swap exactly. He would turn into an adult and then back into a child. Oh, the hilarious hijinks…
