Terribly sad, really, though Mr. Barrett’s creative output ceased decades ago. I always hoped against the odds that he’d emerge from seclusion maybe one last time for an interview, or perhaps to reveal he’d been working on a few songs. If we’re lucky we may learn a few more things about his many many years away from Pink Floyd posthumously, but for now it’s just time for a little more reflection on a sad story of musical genius lost to mental decline.
