Flipping through the channels I saw a history of diamond mining on the History Channel. They mentioned that the first synthetic diamonds were made in the 1950s. They also talked about the first attempts to make them with a carbon crucible and the carbonate something or other (can’t remember exactly what they’re called) that were mistaken for diamonds.
Anyway, was bored and decided to look it up on Wikipedia and they had a few things wrong if the History Channel is correct. Actually, several things… But I couldn’t find anything too exact online that could back up the H.C… a few vague references but I’m probably just searching for the wrong keywords.
Anyway… Anyone have any info on this?
