I am infected with System Security Version 4.52. How do I remove it?

Unlike other things of this nature that I have enocuntered, this one is also blocking me from briinging up any applications, such as chrome, skype, etc. I can bring up Explore however. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also cannot b ring up control panel.

Try Revo Uninstaller. Not only removes the program, but all files and all Registry items. it’s free.

I second Revo. It is the best uninstaller I have ever used.

I third Revo Uninstall, you might have to use the hunter mode. That will put an icon on your desktop and you just drag this ICON (Called Revo Uninstaller Hunter Mode) and drop it on the application.

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware will need to be run to clean it up too.

Now the trojan may prevent this program from opening.

You have to run your computer in Safe Mode.

Close out your computer and restart it. As the computer is logging in keep hitting the “F8” repeatedly. This will put your computer into safe mode.

Then you can download and install Malwarebytes and run it while still in safe mode.

FYI look at the left on the website you can get the free version of Malwarebytes.

Sometimes you can get Malwarebytes to run by simply renaming the executable to something innocuous.

I already had Malwarebytes and have run it in safe mode. It removed some System Security files, however, I still get the pop trying to get me to buy the bogus System Security application and I am still prevented from running any applications I already have.

I would like to try Revo Uninstall as suggested, but when I am in safe mode I have no internet access. Your post suggests that I should have access in order to download anything.

I don’t understand…

I figured out that I have to run in safe mode with networking to access the internet and looked at Revo Uninstaller. Unless I am mistaken, this is not what I need. I don’t need to uninstall the bogus System Security application, because it is not on my computer yet. I need to get rid of the trojan. As I said, I tried Malwarebytes.

Does anyone have specific experience getting rid of System Security. There seems to be two versions, one that just displays the popup over and over, and one that also prevents and apps from running, which is what I have.
