tablet pc's

who’s got one? I just got my Toshiba. So far so good. ONe issue is that it was a chinese language version, so I had it reinstalled, and all the Toshiba designed goodies don’t work. ARGHHHH. I’ll see if IT can help me on Monday.

Even though I can’t use all the functionality, I love it so far. Dang, the writing to text and the speech to text both work surprisingly well.

I can’t wait for my first customer meeting and take the live meeting notes on OneNote instead of a piece of paper or my pocket pc.

Any users out there with some cool things they use the tablet for?

I have thought seriously about getting one for almost two years. But I have so many other things I want that I have put it on the back burner. You are the first person I know to have one. Thanks for the feedback.

I have an M205…just to see they released a new one no more than two weeks after I get mine…grumble grumble…

I got it to take notes in class. I’ve had a laptop for about 8 years, and have been using it in class the entire time. It was when I tried to take notes in biology that I first ran into the major limitation of a computer – cant draw out diagrams or complex compounds.

With the tablet that is now possible, and I love it. It is a little heavy for holding in your arms, but if you have a desk to set it on that’s no problem. The handwriting recongition was spot on right out of the box (and mine sucks) I haven’t played with the voice recongition yet.

The lack of an optical drive is a little annoying. To watch movies I use a program to rip them the the HDD (which I do anyways at home, so I dont have to change DVD’s every time I want to watch a movie) and I try to find games that will run from the hard drive.

In short, I’m converted. Love it, would never trade it in.
