Maybe. If you live in some areas, they may see that as a possibility. However, if you are objecting to MAGA Trump policies and positions, they are not going to change them. They may try to convince you to vote for the MAGA candidate in your area. That is all they will do. Musk has promised (and this is a promise I believe he will keep) to fund the primary campaign of any MAGA candidate running against sane Republican. Enough voters still believe the leopard will not eat their faces and will vote MAGA.

"I have an alternative idea. One that meets somewhere in the middle. That is disruptive…very…but is not violent or breaks any laws, per se.
Here is what I think. My 2 cents. My idea, plan, thought, what have you, on what I wish would happen…
…but I fully admit MY idea, this one I’m about to lay out, is fairly impossible. It will simply never happen. At least not on the scale I think it should in order to work…but here it is anyways.
A one day strike. A MASS strike. One day only. Just one.
A strike of everyone. Anyone and everyone wiilling to risk it. Just… don’t go into work for that day. And go out in the streets and show that it’s not because you’re sick or you have something VITAL to do…no, it’s just to show the Trump administration that you’re a part of this protest.
Everyone. strike. Everyone. Boss threatens to fire you if you don’t come in. OKay, fine. Have fun replacing me. Hell, the BOSS should be right out there striking with you. Along with all of your co workers.
But Idle Thoughts… there are many people who cannot simply walk away from their jobs, they are INTEGREAL jobs, Needed, Required. Police officers Firefighters, Nurses, Doctors, Hospital Workers. You want them to just leave all the dying and sick patients alone ENTIRELY for just one day?? It cannot be done, it’s not realistic.
Well…yeah, that’s what I said at the start. it would never happen.
But yes… I am saying that. I am saying WALK away for that day, even if you are a cop or firefighter or nurse or doctor or postal worker or streetcleaner or shoe salesman or bank teller or teacher or…ANYTHING. Doesn’t matter. Strike. Walk away for one day…and show you’re not gonna put up with it any more.
Be peaceful, of course. Just protesting. But everyone, A mass one. One day strike OF ALL WORKERS>…and hell…SET UP THOSE EMERGENCY tents that they had like, In Korea and the Vietnam war…BRING THE ER AND ICU PATIENTS OUT too… give them signs to hold if they want to.
One day… everyone walks away from their jobs, any job. No matter the job.

FIrst of all, all of the people FOR Trump would not do it. Secondly, even those against Trump, a large amount won’t do it. People will not be willing to leave the required jobs and leave citizens unsafe from crime and sickness. Bosses will threaten firings all over the place and most will give in and cow to it, not wanting to lose their job.
It wouldn’t work. It would never get off the ground.
But if it ever somehow DID… that would be a way to disrupt life, yet it would still be peaceful and not break protesting laws, as far as I can tell.
Because if it ever, by some MAGICAL MEANS did happen on a GRAND SCALE… just one day… the nation would SHUT DOWN. Virtually shut down and then Trump would panic and not know what to do…
BUt then… next day? Business as usual. Everyone geos to their jobs. Well, what jobs they still have…
But then the real fun starts. Because we, the people (remember that lilne?), can always let Trump know “Okay…now imagine that ONE DAY… ONGOING. Because the NEXT STRIKE will be INDEFINITE”

Someone said, in that first thread I posted this in, that it would not work due to TRUMP taking it as a hostile and aggressive move/thing and would declare Martial Law due to it…but I remain a little skeptical. Maybe I’m being naïve, but I would think as long as it was just as peaceful a demonstration as any other one, there would be no cause to bring in the military or police.
Heck, this sort of mass protest wouldn’t even require gathering at any specific location or marching at all. People could if they wanted to.,but they could just CHILL AT HOME, all apart from one another…
…just, ya know, TAKE OFF WORK, that is the main point. You can not go into work and take the day off at any place, though. You can take the day off and stay in your own home.
But yeah… everyone. Everyone who is willing, take the day off. Even essential jobs. Even upon threat of firing.
If there is enough, it will be heard and it will make the news because it will bring this whole country to a CRASHING, STOP ON A DIME HALT
Once again, I don’t think it would work. You may have heard about a “24 hour economic blackout” that was happening today. I made a post on Facebopok to discuss it. For a strike or boycott to be effective, it has to hurt. If everybody were to strike for one day, we haven’t hurt Trump or proven we can strike long enough to matter.
Even Trump has enough brains to know that we cannot in fact strike indefinitely. How many of us have enough savings to pay food and rent during the strike? Our employers will fire and replace us if we go on strike indefinitely.
Besides which, why should Trump give in? Why would he care that we went on strike? There would be plenty of people ready, willing and able to take our jobs and work.
I disagree. Bringing this country to a standstill will be front page news in bold letters and font, maybe for a few days. Trump would not like that and you can bet he would be effected in many small ways. Don’t ask me which ones, I don’t know any specific ones, but I find it hard to believe he wouldn’t feel it in some ways if enough ESSENTIAL employees (including Federal ones), took a day off.
My plan/dream consists of having the employers right there with you, protesting by taking the day off.
Oh yeah, possibly millions who are unedcuated and inexperienced. I’d say to that system “good luck…”
Look, it’s a suggestion. I already said “to have it work”…everyone would have to be on board. Your post is already pointing out things that my suggestion doesn’t entail (like bosses and employers NOT also taking the day off and on board with it)

Well, I already said that about this plan, my very own one, in the main post of it.
I feel too old to attend a protest, bc I worry I might be seriously injured if the crowd became destabilized in some fashion. But I have been calling my reps (useless really, since one of them is Josh Hawley, tho I did see him make some comments that were heading in a better direction), and I also wrote a letter to Kids Win Missouri to protest the Medicaid cuts (I edited their suggestion with some thoughts of my own; they were very much against the cuts, btw). MO gets a bad rap, but many of us here are fighting…which is difficult when the other side doesn’t play fair but that is true anywhere in the US.
A late post. But for the traitor, it’s not all about money. It’s also about vengeance, retribution and revenge against those smarty pants doctors and scientists the told him he was wrong about COVID. You never tell the Don that he is wrong.
Fits right in with him wanting COVID testing to stop. After all, other people dying makes him look bad.
