What would happen if I tried to take a deep breath in a vacuum? Would my lungs fill with nothing? Would I gasp as if I were trying to draw a breath underwater? Would my diaphragm just move up and down with out my chest expanding at all?
Erm… your entire body is under pressure. I assume if it was in a vacum something rather unpleasant would happen.
As I understand it, actually, being in a vacuum (for a SHORT while) doesn’t do as much damage as you might think. Except for the not being able to breathe part.
It would perhaps be more accurate to say that any air that had been in your lungs would disperse into the vacuum.
