I wouldn’t live anywhere else.
Come on down! We’ll even stage a Dopefest for you!
I love Santa Barbara. I just left and I’d miss it if I didn’t love where I moved to.
But yeah, I hate LA. I got a really nice package to go to UCLA and I turned it down, and I’m glad I did. I don’t know how anyone lives with that traffic. Las Vegas traffic isn’t nearly as bad as LA traffic.
Last time I was there we went from the Getty to LAX and it took the person we were picking up less time to board and land from Las Vegas.
I’m sure people really do get used to the traffic. That’s because they die inside.
I’d much rather live on the Central Coast. From Santa Barbara up until Monterrey.
I live near Sacramento and I love it here.
Yes, you should move out there cause I’m moving out there:D.
Yeah, I used to date a guy who lived in Silverlake. I was like, “My God, it’s full of hipsters!”
Based on your description, I don’t see anything in the “pro” column. Why are you even considering moving there?
I live in Chicago and love it. The only time I encounter traffic is when I have to travel via bus rather than the L. Apparently my wife and I live in a fantasy Chicago where we get anywhere we need, at any time, for a total cost of $23 a week. Fuck LA and it’s fucking car culture. I’ve visited friends out there and been in a traffic jam and was astounded that people weren’t reenacting the movie Falling Down every single day.
Its warm. Fuck yeah!
The 405
The DMV
I think I’ve made my case.
If I could move somewhere fucking warm I’d fucking do it fucking now.
It’s minus a million fucking degrees here.
Move.
Fuck!
Oh yeah, dear lord, now I remember why I shall never be nostalgic about L.A. again.
Thanks for sharing!
I don’t know what you do for a living MeanOldLady, but Las Vegas is sunny and (mostly) warm, housing is getting cheaper by the day, and there’s tons of cool stuff to do both within the valley and within an 8 hour drive. Heck, you could even visit your family with just a 3-5 hour drive, depending on where exactly they are.
Ugh. I hated living in Las Vegas. It’s just plain dirty.
what makes you say that?
Everywhere I lived there was tagging. The nightly news was always on about another murder or so. Can’t go walking anywhere: lack of sidewalks, etc. You wanted to go bowling or to a movie chances are you had to go to a casino.
Yeah, the 405 is a nightmare, but damn, I-5 has been bumper to bumper, 24 hours a day, ever since I was in college in the Seventies!

Moving is a huge pain in the ass. You need to stay in a place for at least 2 years to make the last move worth it. And, by then you’ll be married with 3 or 4 kids. Stuck in Chicago forever. Happily.
If I were you, I would jump at the opportunity, but that’s because A) it’s not the Midwest, and B) I’d be moving *away *from my family.
Clearly, New York is the answer.
Baby, please don’t go
Baby, please don’t go
Baby, please don’t go
Down to Los Angeles
You know I love you so
Baby, please don’t go.
Alright
