The worst part about cutscenes and why it’s so annoying when people talk to you during them is that you can’t pause them, and if you want to see it again, typically you have to reload your last save and fight through some horrible battle that you just barely scraped through the first time. So yes, time to smack whoever it is who’s yapping at you during the cutscene.
Where I’m from, it means more than just to punch. It usually refers to beating the shit out of someone.
Sounds like a good member title to me.
Garius, don’t worry. The cut scenes you’re missing are just to let you know that winnie the pooh quite liked his honey jars, and now tigger wants you to help him bounce up and catch the baloons.
Oh, my. I’ve been there. Don’t have him race chocobos, that’s actually kind of fun. Have himtrain your characters for you for a couple of hours.
(running round and round and round and round and round and round in circles!)
FYI North American Dopers:
the “twatted” in question, should you wish to begin employing it in your life/workplace/church, is pronounced with the short soft “a,” as in “fat,” not the long soft “a” as in “straw.”
I say we get out there and twat it!!
Who pronounces it "twawted"? Maybe the Queen does: “Sod orf, commoner, or ai shall twort you”.
Twat (hit) rhymes with fat.
Twat (furry chequebook) rhymes with got, no?
I think Rodd’s note was intended only for those North Americans who aren’t anglophilic enough to be familiar with the verb “twat,” and would likely mentally pronounce “I’ll twat ya” with the same pronunciation used for the colloquial anatomical signifier.
This would make it sound a Brooklyn cabbie’s threat, which isn’t the right effect at all.
Ya teat.
Many older games had stories. They just didn’t try very hard.
I actually don’t mind training my characters. On the other hand, I suck at the chocobo races, and don’t like them at all. I even prefer the lightning dodging quest to racing and/or training chocobos.
Of course I am speaking of FFX, here. I enjoy racing chocobos in FFVII.
