Talking about code-switching is now considered trolling?

Stirring the pot with nothing genuine behind it. Attacking people in clearly meanspirited ways. He looks to me like an obliviously cheerful redneck who hopes to shoot the breeze with others in a good-natured manner. The opposite of trolling.

The post that made his trolling obvious to me is this one:

This is just too obviously calculated to piss off the person accusing you of trolling. Combined with the poster’s previous history of trolling, there is no reason to give them a benefit of the doubt after that remark.

When people think you’re trolling, snide remarks are not the way to convince people otherwise.

Funny how you quoted him in a way that doesn’t allow me to see the context. :dubious:

I think it’s more like he forgot to flush. Yeah, it’s careless and gross. Do it enough times, people might even think it’s deliberate. Worth a banning? Hey, your house your rules.

That’s much better?

It makes it a bad joke or a distasteful joke rather than an admission of trolling, so in that sense yes?

Flushing an upper decker ain’t as easy as it seems. I’d imagine.

Which is not how this place works.

It doesn’t really matter what you want to call it, whether trolling or being a jerk. He’s still not the kind of poster we want around here.

If this (previously linked to in this very thread) is your definition of “obliviously cheerful” and “good-natured,” then perhaps that says something about the both of you.

Hook, line and sinker. You’re making it far too easy.

What he did was heinous. He is not a good person. But yes, he was cheerful about it and didn’t seem to expect posters to dislike it.

Colibri wants him out of here because of that first “not a good person” part. Okay, but acknowledge that this is what you are doing and don’t use this disingenuous “trolling” cover.

Why is it so hard for you to accept that he was trolling?

Uhhh…I think I covered that. Reread my posts upthread. Words have meanings, and “sincere person I dislike” != “troll”.

He was trolling. If you’d like to cling to a different definition, you are welcome to. Yours is not the definition we use. I’m kind of an authority on this.

Per Wikipedia:

Seriously?

In a post I mentioned earlier, it sure sounds like he is aquanted with being banned from boards.

Sure, because decent people won’t like him. That’s not “trolling”.

Two posts ago you were positing that he’s a cheerful guy who doesn’t understand that people won’t like his posts.
