Tattletales and Patty Somethingorother

In the mid 70s there was a TV game show called Tattletales, hosted by Bert Convey. It was not unlike The Newlywed Game, played with married celebrity couples. The men (or alternately the women) would go into an isolation booth while their spouses would answer personal questions. The couples and audience were divided up into sections called Blue, Red, and Banana.

There was one couple of which the female partner was an attractive but goofy looking woman. She had long red hair with bangs and buck teeth and a squeeky little girl voice. She struck me as an irreverent and comedic woman. In some weird brain fart long ago I assumed her husband was John Astin, but I think that’s wrong. I also remember her name as being Patti (or Patty) Duke. For years I labored under the illusion that she appeared in such things as The Miracle Worker and The Patti Duke Show.

I was wrong.

So who was this woman? What is her name? What was she in? And who was her husband?

Patti Deutsch.

Why she was famous enough to get on game shows, I have no idea.

Why I even remember her name, I have less of an idea.
