Last year I worked four months, made about 6,000. Filed e file. Got back 1280 in returns.
This year of 2022 I worked 5 jobs. How do I file that, list all the income and the EIN numbers?
The EIN number doesn’t get reported on your 1040 (or 1040EZ or whatever you use). You just need to put the total income from the five jobs on one line and the total withholding on one line. The IRS probably has your W2 information
I would suggest an online tax service like H&R Block or Turbotax. Easy to use, enter your information, they do all the math. For basic returns it’s all free including the e-file.
Thank you!
I was in the same position. I retired in May from my real job. Started collecting Social Security. I also had a pension and IRA distributions. I went to H&R Block, and my new tax guy had it done and dusted in 45 minutes. I think it was around $200 and totally worth it.
Be careful when filing Turbotax and other “free” tax return offers. I tried it, and it was impossible to get it done for free, but you don’t know that until you put in all your personal info. The US government is actually investigating them and others about this, and it has resulted in a lot of refunds to people for the fees they were charged.
I ended up going to my state tax office online and using their system, and for federal, I go to places like libraries or senior centers (you don’t have to be a senior) where there are qualified people that will do your forms for free during tax season.
Online Taxes (olt.com) lets you enter the W2s from each job and calculates everything.
You can file for free (all Federal forms). The charge for a state form is less than ten dollars, and filing for both (including tax advice) is less than $20. My taxes are a bit complex this year, but it’s done a good job.
Some of these you need to access through the link on the IRS site, and not directly to the servicer’s website. FreeTaxUSA is always free for federal, I use that.
For OP: are these all W-2 jobs?
Yes. All.
That makes your work a lot easier then, depends on your software but basically just put each form in separately.
