I am not a vegitarian, but eat far less meat than average. It is inescapably true that the production and consumption of large quantities of meat has negative consequences. The enormous amounts of grain consumed by cattle and chickens would end hunger in the world if consumed directly by people.
The philosophers have only interpreted the world in various ways; the point, however, is to change it. (Karl Marx, 1845)
There is more than enough grain NOT being eaten by cattle and chickens to feed everyone on Earth right now. You wouldn’t have to reduce the poundage of meat animals being raised one bit to end world hunger.
The problem with world hunger isn’t the size of the food supply, it’s getting the food from where it’s grown (e.g. the USA) to where it’s needed (e.g. Ethiopia).
This is just another liberal cause, and like all other liberal causes it is out to control the lives of others. They have a vision and if you don’t have the same vision you need to be controlled. Die yuppy scum!
