Tea Partier to head CIA

I think we’d all be amused watching Trump voters face the consequences of what they’ve done if you guys lived in your own country.

But we live here too. You guys screwed up and we’re going to have to share the consequences.

It’s like finding out your spouse just sent the contents of your joint savings account off to a Nigerian prince.

I listened to a gleeful Trump supporter on the NPR program "Here and Now"yesterday, and if she is typical, his followers will be loyal believers to the bitter end. This woman did not think Trump lied about anything, she doubts the FBI reports that there has been increased violence against Muslims since the election, and she’ll have to “wait and see” what Steve Bannon really believes. “White Nationalism?? What IS that anyway??” :smack: These people deny what they see right in front of their own eyes. (By “these people,” I mean loyal Trump supporters.)

They voted with their guts, clearly not their brains, so facts/events/logic will not sway them IMHO.

So, a few things. There is a difference between being a lifelong member of the NRA and being a life member of the NRA. You can be a life member of the NRA for $1000. It gives you the right to vote in their elections and you never have to pay dues again. Some people are actually lifetime members. Someone buys them a life membership when they are born (Personally I bet the parents would prefer a really nice stroller).

Secondly, a LOT of people are NRA members. Michael Moore and John F Kennedy were NRA members.

Thirdly, why does it matter that he was an NRA member or are we trying to demonize gun owners again? How’d that work out for us on election day?

How did Republicans react when Obama was elected? How did they react when he was re-elected? What was you’re reaction?

He is a Lifetime member.
edited to add: Are you going to pick at this one straw, or are you going to comment on the whole of what has been revealed about him so far?

Stolen from Twitter: “Trump filling his cabinet is like an Advent calendar counting down to the apocalypse.”

Pretty obvious, isn’t it? Obama got way more votes than the other guy, so his election is not legitimate. Trump got about a million less votes, that’s a mandate. He’ll explain that to you.

Not really.

But he seems a bit too partisan to be CIA director.

He seems too partisan for the position and it makes me less confident that Trump may tack back to the center when he is in office.

I’m just picking on the whole “here’s this bad guy and of course, he is an NRA member” The reflexive demonization of guns and gun owners is not going to make life better for us unless guns are the sole determinant of social welfare in your book.

There’s even a song about them.

Kinda seems to me he’s just slapping people into stuff so he can get to the really important things, like planning his victory tour.

Looks like poor old Rudy is kinda being cold-shouldered now. I know he had his eyes on the AG spot.

It really didn’t take long, did it?

Every appointment is a cruel, mean old white guy. It might as well be the cabinet of the Confederate States of America.

And now we’re supposed to step back and give each individual pick their own chance?

As my sainted dearly departed Grandmother used to say, “Fuck that shit!”(Ghod, I miss that sweet old lady).

And after all that time on his knees, like an old Times Square crack whore.

Even wearing his favorite dress …

He’s still in the running for Secretary of 9/11, er, State, though.

Well, it seems Christie already received his measure of “gratitude” for bending over. So were Rudy left to go back to the speaking circuit, or given a post beneath his expectations, it would be another sign that they offer a scraping lackey as much respect as is deserved.

If you’re only getting one term, you might as well go for broke.:stuck_out_tongue:

Criticizing the NRA and its members is not equivalent to demonizing all gun owners. Most gun owners don’t want to be associated with the NRA loons.

Rudy backed off of the AG role a week ago, he’s been pushing for SoS for himself.
