Tea Party congressman only has 400k leftover!

Poor Poor fucking Baby. No I don’t have a link, Find it your damn self.

One of the Congressman Tea baggers was just on CNN discussing Obama’s to be unveiled tax hikes on the “job creators”. Turns out, that after he pays for all his business expenses he only has about 600K leftover! After he “feeds his family” he only has 400k leftover to play with, reinvest etc! POOR BABY! how does he cope? His children must be in potato sacks and shoeless. Surely they never attend the dentist or doctor. I mean, if you only have eight times the average total income of a two income family left over in profits at the end of the year that is a terrible situation. My god, a few thousand dollars out of that will bankrupt this country and put him into a shelter I’m certain. He will be reduced to sucking cock for nickels in the gutter while we all tie an onion to our belts and dance the socialist rag!

Class warfare my ass. I’m starting to think that real warfare might be a better option.

Well, he’s a Republican, so I assumed he was doing that covertly anyway for free. May as well make some pocket change from it.

I also wonder how much free food, drinks, athletic events and other luxury shit he’s enjoying because he’s writing it off to the company as a business expense.

I’m always amazed at how plutocrat Republican’s can get average Americans to vote against their own best interests.

It was John Flemming. For those who need to know. HERE is his page.

Fuck, as if we needed more proof that these assholes are out of touch.

If he’s making under $1,000,000 in income per year, he’s too poor to be affected by a minimum tax on income above this amount. So he can rest easy that he’s not part of the “Class” that Obama has declared war on.

“Class” is not a word that will ever be associated with Tea Baggers.

Okay, let’s all calm down.

Let’s look at what Representative Fleming has done. He is a doctor who served in the Navy to finance his education After this he went into family practice. This practice presumably employs several people besides himself - nurses, medical technicians, and the like.

He has been running a couple of side businesses as well, as a franchisee of Subway restaurants and UPS stores. These stores have presumably created a number of jobs as well, not to mention services for the communities in which they are located.

Now, this doesn’t on the face of it seem like someone out of touch to me - this looks like someone who understands how marginal changes in the tax code might affect decisions like opening a new store.

I got this by Googling the congressman, BTW. I don’t know exactly what he said but the general description above doesn’t seem remarkable to me in the least.

BTW, a guy who owns some restaurants and a family medical practice doesn’t rise to plutocrat status in my book. He just seems like a small businessman, albeit one who got elected to Congress at one point.

Ah, so he mooched off the government then.

  • He spends $200,000 a year to “feed his family”. Must be a hell of a large family, or they eat like pigs.

  • His net after expenses is 600k/year. As such he won’t be affected by a minimum tax on incomes over $1,000,000/year. What’s his problem then? He should just shut the fuck up.

  • If you are whining like a baby because you make 600k a year, and you might have to pay a little more tax to keep the country from collapsing, then you are a greedy, selfish, shortsighted little weasel.

He’s not a plutocrat, but he’s representing them, and whining on their behalf. That’s 0.1% of the taxpayers he’s representing. The top of the pile. The richest of the rich. He’s basically saying that the other 99.9% can go to hell.

Shortsighted? sure. Greedy? maybe. Selfish? not really.

It’s more selfish to expect someone to fork over more cash so that it can be spent on things you want than for someone to want to keep their own money.

self·ish   [sel-fish]
adjective

  1. devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one’s own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others.
  2. characterized by or manifesting concern or care only for oneself: selfish motives.

I don’t know, sounds pretty spot on to me.

If we’re talking about comparing the character and virtue of various people, I would still rank a greedy, clueless Republican politician as being more sympathetic than a lazy OP who can’t be bothered to link to the actual comments in question, but still manages to find the time to imbed links to pages that have nothing at all to do with the controversy.

The interview was on CNN live about an hour ago. I doubt it’s up yet. Go find it yourself. Go pull up those bootstraps! Get going! I guarantee you I didn’t twist his words up in the least.

“who gave you the nickel?”
“All of them!”

Winner!

Gotta be a way to turn this asswipe into a “Are you better than you were four years ago?”-type soundbite.

Yep, that’s my take, too. And pardon me if I defer passing judgment until such time as links are provided, not being willing to accept the OP’s synopsis without substantiation.
