Teabaggers mock man with Parkinson's

That was mine. No apologies will be coming, so don’t anyone hold their breath.

No reason for salty language you lying hypocrite.

You’re stupid Bricker. You know it. You’ve managed to fake it with hard work, but in the end you know that all around you people are smarter and faster. You create systems, fake principles, bad arguments… all to deflect away from the fact that you just don’t have the brains you want so bad.

Don’t let that drive you to be such a bad, angry person though. C’mon, guy, smile and be happy.

Well, there must be a reason he doesn’t actually practice law anymore.

Not necessarily, but our claims to be Christians must.

I hadn’t yet figured out how to pick the lock on the gun drawer.

I love how the pitting of shitbags who threw money at a man with Parkinsons* becomes a counter pitting of people who think all Americans should be taxed into indigency to give money to lazy minorities.

How many logical fallacies is that? Straw man, excluded middle, tu hoque, ad hom…
*Many if not most if not all of them probably the same shitbags who lobby for school prayer and against gay marriage because they’re so righteous and Christian and who want to hold Obama’s birth certificate in their hands and interview the nurses before they’ll believe he’s a U.S. citizen but will accept on faith that a virgin gave birth [just one though, the other accounts of virgins giving birth are silly] 2000 years ago.

I guarantee it, since I expect that most of them are sane enough to have a survival drive. Not to mention that people who think selfishness is a virtue are not likely to have any particular objection to also being liars and hypocrites; honesty is a social virtue, the exact thing they condemn. I would expect most of them and those with similar attitudes towards society to be willing to lie, cheat, steal or kill if they can get away with it, because they despise the very principles that make those things wrong in the first place. And the right wing is notably thuggish.

I mock them because I consider them sadistic, I consider them to almost certainly be hypocrites, and because their claimed position is stupid. There’s nothing strong or admirable about “self reliance”; self reliance is a weakness. Society exists in the first place because individuals are weak. Americans aren’t taught to admire self reliance because it’s a good thing; they are taught that because it makes them easy victims for any organization that wants to exploit them.

Of course they are evil. They are creatures of malice. Stupid and cruel, to the point of being self destructive. They might as well be orcs, the way they are behaving ( they even have evil overlords who use them as puppets and catspaws! ). Not surprisingly, since they are the sort of people I expect that orcs were written to be a caricature of.

But denying that possibility is part of the egotism that is central to this “self reliance”, “I’ve got mine, screw you” mentality. They won’t be fooled; they are superior to the rest of us vermin. They don’t need protection from financial scams, or from bad food, poisonous drugs or all of those other “nanny state” protections. They will see through all the scams because they are just that much superior to the rest of us.

Yes, you are. That’s rather the point. Conservatives stand against human progress, against equality, justice and benevolence in any form. Throughout history, they are always on the wrong side. Slavery, racism, sexism, theocracy, or in this case letting the people with less money perish; conservatives are consistently the bad guys on such issues.

Kind of NSFW.

I was struck by the image and felt I needed to draw this. If this is against forum rules, let me know.

Notice the bootstraps…

Yes, you are. You particularly.

Why don’t you get off this board and go somewhere where your kind is tolerated, like say Freepers or some white-supremacist hate site. There you can jerk off to Sarah Palin porn and dollar bills all day long, and leave this board to the intelligent people. Everyone here hates you.

And that’s The Facts, Jack!

I’m not usually a fan of photorealism, but you have undeniable talent.

Wow - this is ridiculous.

Hey, I happen to like the Who’s Nailin’ Palin videos!

And I never expected this sort of hatred towards a member of the Straight Dope Science Advisory Board. He was just defending homosexuality as natural in another thread, he doesn’t come across as a white supremacist moneybags to me. :stuck_out_tongue: But maybe that’s because I’m new here.

Bricker is also of Salvadorian heritage, if I recally correctly. What are the current White Supremacist admission standards for the children of Hispanic immigrants? I understand they can kind of be sticklers for the “white” thing.

When I saw that video I thought, holy crap, anyone who still has any sympathy for the Tea Klux Klan is a fucking asshole. Reading this thread confirms my thought.

I disagree with Bricker on pretty much every political issue, but FWIW he knows too many showtunes for me to ever hate him or think of him as evil. (You’ll rarely meet a serial killer or dictator who can sing anything from the Golden Age of Broadway [unless perhaps it was a crossover hit on the pop charts].)

Is Tea Klux Klan original to you? The reason I ask is that I haven’t heard it before but totally intend to use it and wanted to attribute it to you if it is.

How on Earth did this get into “making jokes about** Bricker **joining White Supremacists” territory?

I mean, come on. There’s some significant irony in posting in a thread expressing outrage at bastardliness in order to engage in bastardliness.

Bricker, I am sure you’ll treat the upper post with the amount of consideration it deserves, but since you’ve made a point about being annoyed by a double standard of letting people “on side” get away with things; Facts, your post is pretty damn foolish. And, to any in general, just because you can be a bastard in the Pit doesn’t mean you should. Especially if it’s not particularly clever bastardry.

God forbid! No, Mr. Bricker, not at all.

My point, clearly lost on you, is that it’s almost entertaining to watch so many ostensible Christians, especially those who profess to adhere sedulously to the teachings of Christ, pick and choose which of those teachings they’re going to respect. Today.

Look, I’m a bleeding heart liberal, but this is just unfair. Fiscal conservativism is not social conservativism.

For what it’s worth, I disagree with Bricker on purt-near-everything, but he’s not evil. He’s arguing what he thinks is best for society. I can disagree with that, I can find his ideas wanting or even destructive, but that doesn’t make him evil and it certainly doesn’t follow that he’s somehow responsible for slavery.

Frankly, converting every debate to “You’re eeeeevil!” “No, you’re eeeeevil!” is just retarded. Increasingly alarmist sound-bytes, from BOTH sides, are a large part of what is keeping the nation from reasoned debates based on, you know, facts. The Teabaggers are just as guilty of it, but it doesn’t make it okay for you to do it too.

And why exactly is Bricker beholden to those ideals which you feel best respect the teachings of Christ? Surely, if we’re going to call him on apparent contradictions, we should be comparing him to his own opinions of those teachings? After all, there are plenty of Christians around the globe, and they tend not to all march in lockstep.

If you want to show that Bricker in particular is picking and choosing, then look through his posts. Find examples where he has declared that certain actions or policies are Christian in nature, and compare them to his statements here. Otherwise, all you’re doing is comparing him against whatever ideal of Christian thought you have; which isn’t particularly useful. After all, in my head, you agree with me, so you’re a hypocrite to disagree in this post.
