Teach me.

I am ignorant. Teach me.

Can you cook? Teach me. At least give me some tips.
Can you write? Teach me. At least give me some advice.
Can you argue well? Teach me. Perhaps just a few pointers.
Are you good at math? Teach me something interesting. Explain it so I can understand.
Is there anything at all you know well or are good at? Teach me about it.

Consider this a good excuse to show off your knowledge.

Rules of thumb, advice, bits of wisdom, entire intricate descriptions of how to do something: any of these is welcome. Any realm of knowledge is welcome. If you understand Goedel’s incompleteness theorem, please explain it. If you have a great description of what “Finnegans Wake” is all about, please share it. If you know how to tie various kinds of knots, please tell me how. If you know much about history, tell me something interesting about the past, like how a particular war was fought, or what a historical figure was like. I want to broaden my knowledge. I know so little, and what I know is so limited in scope.

I am ignorant. Teach me.

Suppose you have a loop of string and you want to place it on a table so as to enclose the maximum possible area. What shape should the string make?

Isoperimetric Theorem
Among all geometric figures in a plane having the same perimeter, the circle encloses the greatest area.

So, a square made from a meter-long rope encloses less area than a circle made from a meter-long rope.

And, of course, we all know what the area of a circle is.

Dumble was an ignoramus,
Mumble was for learning famous.
Mumble said one day to Dumble:
“Ignorance should be more humble.
Not a spark have you of knowledge
That was got in any college.”
Dumble said to Mumble: “Truly
You’re self-satisfied unduly.
Of things in college I’m denied
A knowledge – you of all beside.”

I graduate in less two months (from Sunday) with a BA (the Peanut Gallery can shut up about the appropriateness of this label now :D) in English with minors in Latin, and Printing and Publishing Arts. My knowledge in these areas is quite fresh, since I am completing only major and minor requirements this semester.

So my question to you Black Knight is, which area would you like info on? Latin, literature, or publishing? I also happen to know quite a bit about indie filmmaking, so I can field interest in that area as well. Need makeup tips? I can do that. Mythology? I can answer some of those questions too. I’ve also read nearly all of Stephen King’s books, and I can tutor you on their social merit as well.

Tell me what you are interested to know, and I’ll do my best to tell you about it if I can.

Anything. Everything.

Write about what you know. Write like you’re talking to your best friend.

It is my opinion that women like to dance publically more than men do, so be a person women want to dance with and men envy. Here is my advice on how to learn to dance-----
just do it. Go out there—that’s 75% of the battle. It’s all good.

now you teach me something…

I don’t believe that instruction in the martial arts would be appropriate via this medium.

Cooking perhaps?

People will think you’re a god for making this and it’s so simple…

  • Take one pound of chicken breast and cut it into one inch cubes.
  • Place the chicken in a large bowl.
  • Pour enough olive oil into the bowl to lightly cover all the chicken cubes.
  • Mince 2 large cloves of garlic and add this to the chicken.
  • Take a teaspoon of oregano and add this to the chicken.
  • Add a little salt and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  • Stir the chicken so that it is evenly covered with seasonings.
  • Cover and chill overnight.
  • Place the cubes of chicken on bamboo skewers and BBQ until thoroughly cooked. This takes 8 -12 minutes.

Serve with roasted potatoes and/or rice and Greek salad:

  • Take two large tomatoes, one english cucumber, one medium onion, and a green pepper. Cut these into bite sized pieces.
  • Add half a cup of drained black olives, a teaspoon of oregano and half a cup of feta cheese.
  • The dressing is made with 100ml olive oil and 75 ml red wine vinegar, pour this over the ingredients and toss lightly.

Enjoy!
