What would be the point of shooting at live fish?
It’s just an expression.
For the record, I don’t think an actual barrel of monkeys would be all that fun.
But probably smelly.
What if the barrel was full of live fish but was really really small?
You’re all missing the point: you yourself are in the barrel, like Diogenes, when you do the shooting. It ain’t that easy.
I’ve heard the pile-on defence mentioned on other websites as the best thing to do in a school shooting situation. But then I have to ask how people are supposed to act in the circumstances? You hear about some teachers blocking door ways or shielding students, but what about everyone else?
In Northern Ireland I always gave bomb scares the usual, meh, just walk calmly the way you’re shown, but I’ve no idea how I would have reacted had a bomb actually gone off in front of me. How are people supposed to react in a school shooting? Especially if they see a friend or class mate gunned down in front of them? I’m sure for everyone who would go mad and run at the gunman, I’m sure others would be horrified to see someone dead in a pool of blood.
Would the monkeys eat the fish if they were all in the barrel together?
Are the monkeys trained to shoot barrels and kick down doors?
