So, in about three hours, the SIGO and I are going to enjoy our second Tech Free holiday (Christmas Day was our first try). We’d spent 24 hours with nothing newer than 35-years old: music CDs are fine, but no DVDs, Wi-Fi streaming, no computers/tablets, cellphones. . . nuthin’ but coffee, books, radio, and cats.
Admittedly, the first ‘detox’ was a little rough, but the concerted effort made it easier. This time, it’ll be for 36 hours, and admittedly, I might be jonesin’ on Sunday.
Is that just “SIGnificant Other,” or do the I and G stand for something else?
Sounds like an interesting thing to try. I usually just detox by switching to no interactive media or contentious sites. But I still get to, say, watch “TV”, i.e. online video.
Even family get togethers usually wind up involving showing people videos or songs.
