Does anyone know of any objective resources that do testing and evaluation of high-end storage systems? I’m shopping for a medium-sized frame (initially configured with 5TB of raw storage on 10k disks no larger then 73GB) and I’m having a hell of a time finding objective comparisons between vendors (Sun’s 9900 and StorEdge 6000 lines, EMC’s Symmetrix and Clarion lines, NetApp’s stuff, etc.) and even between different lines from the same vendor. Wading through the company sales information and websites is nearly impossible (sales through obfuscation seems to be a common mantra). I’m looking for non-anecdotal benchmarks performed by third-parties. Anyone have any pointers?
