Does anyone know the port settings (data bits/parity/stop bits/flow control) required for this serial printer?
It was working on my old computer. I connected it to my new one and it stopped working. I reconnected it to the old computer --> it still isn’t printing.
When I go to print a label, the label tantalizingly starts moving, but stops after a fraction of an inch. Then the light starts flashing and the program locks up.
Seems like communications aren’t synching properly.
I have a modem in the machine, but I don’t use it. But it’s on COM3, and the printer is on COM1. I thought that could be the problem, so I connected the printer to COM2. I thought about physically removing the inactive modem, but that’s a pain 'cause of the location of the computer and cables.
Help!
By the way - never buy anything from Smith Corona. They’ve been no help.
