I used a home teeth whitener a while back and I was hard pressed to notice much of a difference. What improvement I did see (which may well have been in my imagination) seemed to go away pretty quickly once I stopped using it.
Have any of you had good results from a home teeth whitening kit?
(or, if you have just one tooth, I guess a tooth whitening kit would be a more accurate description)
I’ve been happy with what I’m using, got the instructions from a friend.
In a bottle cap or egg cup combine, 1/4-1/2 teaspoon baking soda with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide, (the whitening ingredient in all tooth whitening systems!), enough to make a paste.
Using a makeup brush,(from the $ store!), apply to your front teeth, leave it on for 3-4 mins, then rinse it out, especially the baking powder.(It won’t hurt you to swallow it, but don’t do that!)
Quick brush and that’s it. When I began I did it every other day till I was happy with the effect, then, a couple of times a week.
It works quite well for me and is by far less expensive.
We are pretty pleased w/ the results we get from the commercial “trays.” We use them a couple of times a year - often before we are attending a wedding or something. Seems to keep the teeth brighter for at least a few months.
