Even though I don’t give out my phone number, and even though I don’t use my phone except for people I know, I’ve been getting (what I assume to be) spam calls.
What’s the best telemarketer-blocking app for Android?

Don’t know if there’s an app, I just add the number to my auto reject list. Subscribing to see if there’s a better answer.
I like Call Control. It does a great job off blocking calls and gets it’s database from inputs from other users.
It also can track a lost phone. It found mine. It would have also found my stolen car if the cops would have showed up an hour sooner. The phone was in the car until the crooks sold it.
There’s a few other tricks that it can play like backing up phone numbers especially if you upgrade to the paid version.
Is your cell phone number on the US National "Do Not Call" list?
That should help.
There’s always “Nomorobo”.
Looks like a great idea if it works.
Does anyone have any experience with this service?
My numbers have been on that list for years, home and cell. Hasn’t helped at all as far as I am concerned. Still average 5 to 10 calls a week on each.
Just looked into it. Doesn’t work on cell phones or regular landlines, only on VOIP based lines.
Yes. The DNC list is useful for lawful telemarketers, but does nothing to prevent scam/spam calls.
I use SyncMe to sync my Android contacts with their Facebook accounts (since Android doesn’t do that natively anymore). A happy side effect is that it provides caller information and allows you to block spam calls. The interface is slightly annoying but well worth it.
I signed up to Nomorobo.
so far, it has blocked a couple of telemarketers. That is good.
so far, it has missed a few telemarketers. That is bad.
so far, I don’t know if any legit calls have been blocked. At least no one has complained.
You might take a look at Whitepages Caller ID and/or Mr. Number. I’ve found them reasonably useful.
