Telemarketers calling during passover dinner.

We’re Canadians, eh. We don’t have the list here.

I am not Jewish but I went to a class on the old testament where the teacher had some of the students come up and do the seder so we could understand it better.

One of the other students noticed that:

A. The students involved in the seder where being feed.
B. There was an empty seat.

So he figure the seat was just missed and runs up to the front and joins in. The teacher called him Elijah for the rest of the that class.

May I ask what the Elijah reference is about? The part about the pizza guy makes me think that situation would be wonderfully funny.

Sorry Gadfly, I was unaware of that. Maybe you should start a campaign in Canada to get a no-call-list there too.

A short reference for you:

What happened, in my much-less-funny retelling, is that they got to the point in the seder where the door is opened. I believe it was the rabbi I know who was the door-opener, though don’t hold me to that – anyway, he opens the door, and there is a pizza guy, with his hand raised, about to knock.

The pizza guy was mortified, but everybody had a good laugh. He was supposed to be next door, of course. I don’t think anybody at a seder would be ordering a pepperoni pizza.
