I’ve been invited down to the Dominican Republic, for a week at an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana in January. The resort appears to be at the extreme eastern end of the island, and quite isolated, according to Google Maps. My friend from the DR said that it’s about a six-hour bus journey from the resort area to the capital city, Santo Domingo.
So, what’s the Dominican Republic like? What are the people like? What’s an all-inclusive resort like? (I’ve never been to one.) Will there be excursions outside the resort, or is it just lay-on-the-beach-and-sip-drinks? I’d rather look at the architecture of the capital city, and tour the rain forests, but I suspect we’ll be too far from them…
