Tell me about the FINRA Series 7 and 65 exams

So I’ve got this job working for a stockbroker as a back-office assistant. I’ve got my insurance licenses, so I can sell insurance, but he wants me to get my Series 7 and 65 so I can process orders and such in his absence.

Now then. I’ve taken the 6 and 63, but have had no reason to take the 7 and 65 until now, and I have no idea what to expect.

So here are my questions:

[ul]
[li]How long did it actually take you to take the exam? I know the first session is three hours, a one-hour break, then another three-hour session. Did it take all six hours, or were you done before that?[/li][li]How much math is on the exam?[/li][li]Did the exam focus on one particular kind of question?[/li][li]What study materials did you use? Any in particular you’d recommend?[/li][li]What about the 65/66? What’s that like?[/li][/ul]

I’m 99% sure I’m going to take the exam. I’m just wondering what I can expect.
