Tell me about Turks and Caicos and/or Club Med

At the end of this month, I am going to Turks and Caicos with my gf and staying at the Club Med resort there (Turkoise – see what they did there?). I mention this almost exclusively to make you all jealous, but to satisfy the tiny non-wanting-to-make-people-jealous part of my brain, is there anything special in T&C that I absolutely can’t miss while I’m out there?

I went on scuba excursions to French Cay and West Caicos. The resorts are on the north side of the island; the really good dive sites are off the south side.

Other than that, the two years I was there I didn’t see anything else on Provo.

Have fun! Try the trapeze!

When you come back, tell us how it went.

Hmmm. That’s a little disheartening. Although I didn’t realize that this place ever had a reputation as a “sex-seeker’s paradise”, so I may not share his disappointment in that regard.

I’ve only been to one other “All inclusive” resort before, and the rooms were spartan there, so I won’t be expecting too much on that front here either. I’m going for the outside-the-room environment.

what **ben **said. the divemaster and i were there for the diving, which is amazing. i want to go back in the worst way.

other than that, frankly, there isn’t a whole lot else to do there.

If you fish, then spend a day going after bonefish. Great fun.

Welcome to the future first outpost of the Canadian Empire!

My brother and sister in law have gone there twice in the last two years. Yes, they are divers. They really love it.

That’s all I’ve got.

Wasn’t that Newfoundland?

Actually, this is how we found out about these islands in the first place. That and the continuing liberation struggle on Hans Island are my two “funny Canadian geopolitics” stories.

Unfortunately both my GF and I have ear problems which probably make scuba diving a bad idea for us. We’re mostly planning on sticking to “near surface” watersports. I’ve heard good things about the sea kayaking there. And the circus school.
