…what initially sparked your interest, etc.?
Please omit teams local to a new city where you relocated (unless you were a fan before you moved) - this one is pretty self-explanatory.
For me, I was a fan of the Oakland Raiders, as they were the only team that I saw that had a shot at toppling (first) the Dolphins and the Steelers, both who had beaten my beloved Vikings in the Superbowl. Once Oakland did the same in a crushing manner in '76-'77, the attraction waned considerably.
Also, I liked the Golden State Warriors when I was a kid, although I can’t remember why - probably something to do with Rick Barry. Nice to see their recent success.
My favorite team is the Green Bay Packers (grew up in GB, family has had season tickets for over 50 years, I’m a shareholder).
#2 for me is the Seattle Seahawks (despite the Packers losing to them in the NFC Championship Game last season, and the Fail Mary game in 2012). I started following the Seahawks in the late 70s, when they were still really an expansion team. At that time, I liked some of their players (Largent, Zorn, Herrera), and their uniform colors and logo, and I’ve always kept them as a “second choice” team.
During the '80s, I also followed the 49ers, in part because the Packers of that era stunk (and were thugs, when Forrest Gregg coached them), and in part because I was a big fan of Joe Montana. When Montana left, and the Packers got good, my interest in them waned.
I am a die-hard Detroit Lion fan. I have worked very hard to get attached to an AFC team (since Detroit is an NFC team, for those that don’t know, they statistically wouldn’t play each other very often unless it’s in the Superbowl)
Back in the day (20+yrs ago) I was a bandwagon-child-fan of the Redskins before I stopped following football (until about 10 years ago). So I tried that. Didn’t Work.
Then I tried the Texans… nope.
I have given up hope that I will like anyone else. I’m honalulu blue through and through.
