Tell me about your lucky <fill in the blank>

I had a college friend who never washed his coffee cup <with soap> the entire time he was working on his master’s; it was his lucky thing, and he wasn’t going to wash it out until he’d completed school. His girlfriend at one point DID wash it out, and he was really, really upset. :stuck_out_tongue:

Do you have any lucky items or rituals that you hang onto, whether they work or not?

I think the only one I have is that I will take the chalk off any pool table I’m playing on, I don’t care if it actually belongs to the other player. NO CHALK ON THE TABLE!!

I carried in my purse for years a tiny plastic goldfish, very realistic looking, just a little decoration off an ice cream cake I had at a party. It was too pretty to just throw away, so I chucked it in my purse, and it always went into any new purses I got, along with the wallet, makeup bag, etc. Not that I’ve always had great good luck with anything. Maybe my luck would have been much worse without the plastic goldfish!

I have a St. Christopher medal clipped to my car’s visor.

I’m not Catholic; I’ve never been Catholic. It was given to me by my Aunt - she’s not Catholic either - in fact, neither of us are Christian. But she once went through a spate of ridiculous car accidents that ended once she clipped that thing onto her car visor.

I keep it because it reminds me of her.
