Tell me about your multitool

I have a toolbox full of tools. I have a milk crate full of tools. I even have bigger Leatherman multitools, but the one tool I use more than any other day-to-day by far is my Leatherman Juice Xe6.

I find multitool scissors to be tiny, because they are tiny, and being tiny they are really only good for cutting similarly tiny things. Probably TMI but I primarily use the scissors on my multitool for cutting errant nose hairs.

.

Multitool scissors are like every other tool in them: sufficient for the job when you can’t be carrying a full tool kit with you. Otherwise the dedicated uni-tasker is the way to go. Trimming nose hairs or odd bits of string on the job - great. Scrap-booking with the daughters - not so great.

Given the choice, I would almost always use a real pair of scissors over any pocketknife or multitool scissors. That said, though, the scissors on the Wave are pretty robust, and if a real pair isn’t available, they can serve all the same purposes, just slower.

Thought so, thanks–so we’ll keep our scissors with us and won’t make them a priority in picking one out.

Yes, I know, but it is a POS off brand =P

… or at the very least I certainly hope so… either way I had tried sharpening it in the past, and the dull blade is pretty low on the list of problems.

I have a Wave and the scissors are pretty good. Cut many, many zip ties with it…much easier than using the knife blade even though it is quite sharp. Also, cut up a lot of mole skin on the trail with it.

Just noticed my link is for shit. The ones we got were built into an adjustable wrench. There were pliers with wire nippers built in, a knife, a “saw” that really worked better as a knife for cardboard and stuff like that, a Phillips, a straight and a can opener. Fairly nice quality ones like that can be had here now off the internet for like $10 and up.

Don’t shy away from stuff that can/does include some advertising of your choice (good chance to plug your club?). Used to be stuff like that was crap. Most now is pretty damn good quality if a little “generic” looking. After all, what business wants to have its logo branded on a turd.

Here’s a photo of the scissors on my Surge.

I think they are a decent size for a multi-tool.
