Little Finally had his out when he was 8 after a solid year of either having strep or being on antibiotics. Looking back, I don’t know if I would do it again or not. I walked into the recovery room, looked at him in the bed, and passed out cold. He’s a real stoic when it comes to pain (unlike his mom) and it was horrible even for him.
I had mine out when I was 11 or 12, and having been in intensive care a LOT since (not because of having my tonsils out i might quickly add) it really really isnt that bad. You can have a lot more pain trust me.
Despite the temptation to eat soft things it really is best to get on and just eat normally-you do heal quicker. I was up and about two days later and back at school pretty soon after that.
The smell and taste in your mouth and nose is bad though-like metallic paint is stuffed up your nostrils.
