I was just reading my new copy of The Triumph of the Straight Dope when I came upon a column on stigmata.
This surprised me, as I seriously doubt Cecil would reprint the same column in two books, and it was obviously in an earlier book because I was scarred by it as a child. (the article, not stigmata)
So I looked though the indexes of my old books.
Nothing.
I looked up the article in the archive and the date was Feb 20, 1998.
Someone please tell me that there was a way for me to have read this 10 years ago and that I’m not fabricating memories.
[hijack]You probably aren’t crazy, but you ARE a big procrastinator. When are you going to get another copy of your writing over to Eutychus for Teemings? [/hijack]
For some reason, I remember reading that article in the archives and it being much older.
Maybe it’s a bout of mass clairvoyance. Maybe if we all hold hands and chant “Eeeny Ooony Wannah”. (Thousand cool points for whoever gets what that’s referencing.)
<Rudolph> She said I’m cool! I’m COOOOOOOOL!</Rudolph>
[sub]Okay, okay, so she said I was a geek, too, but THAT I already knew…[/sub]
Gosh, thanks Simetra. So what can I exchange these for? Will they help me get past the bouncer at the next meeting of the Elite Clique? Do I collect more by following you around the boards and putting up “Me, too!” posts after you? Or place you to the top of my list on the next “Coolest, Neatest, Favoritest, Most Scrum-didley-umtious Poster” thread?
*[sub]Sincere apologies for continuing this god-awful hijack LaurAnge, but I jus’ GOTTA find our how to get into that club![/sub]
