In an attempt to lure back his golden goose, Ike Turner suggested a stage show in which Ike and Tina Turner would appear with the likewise divorced Sonny and Cher, to be called “The Broken Pieces Put Back Together With Crazy Glue”
Today I learned something interesting: as a disinfectant, a 70% concentration of alcohol is the most effective at killing pathogens. Anything higher or lower is less effective. So as a disinfectant, the 91% concentration is less effective than the 70%, both of which are commonly sold in stores. A bit counterintuitive, but apparently true.
That might be because the inert ingredient prevents the active ingredient from evaporating off as quickly.
I recall something about the 70% solution more readily passing through cell walls.
Baseball - in 1932, Jimmie Foxx hit 60 home runs for the Philadelphia A’s. Unfortunately - two were cancelled doe to rain-shortened games which didn’t go five innings.
In the same way that drunk people are less likely to be injured in a given fall than if sober?
Tried it (pineapple on pizza) for the first time on Father’s Day. It was surprisingly good.
It plays well with ham (which does well paired with something sweet) and some people like it with a veggie pizza (onions, bell pepper, etc.)
I don’t know if it’s the origin of pineapple on pizza, but the classical “German” Pizza Hawaii is pineapple with ham. It was based on Toast Hawaii, another seemingly exotic meal invented in Germany.
What kind of ingrate of a dog would sue his department after they fixed his tooth?
Like Alfred Nobel?

In 1948, Stan Musial led the League in hits, doubles, triples, RBIs, slugging, OBP, everything - except Home runs. He hit 39, the leaders hit 40. Musial had 2 home runs taken away because games were washed out.
Did the leaders have any HRs canceled as well?
Just asking for completeness.
Buy a crystal radio kit and see for yourself. The Exploratorium used to sell an LCD clock powered by radio waves, but it was for a rather high price. IIRC it needed a wire as a quarter-wave antenna.
Fair point. I’m only quoting Stan’s side of the story - that’s all I know.
Musial is probably the most underrated player in the history of baseball.
My first baseball glove was a Stan Musial glove.
I had no idea who he was.
Since I grew up in the Bay area in the late 50’s and early 60’s, I would have much preferred a Willie Mays or Willie McCovey glove.
Stan Musial had 3630 career hits. 1815 of these hits were at home and 1815 were on the road.
The volcano pizza is good. That would be pineapple, ham or peperoni and jalapenos. I only know one place that calls it a volcano pizza.
