The super crappy one was Mission Impossible 2. MI:3 was OK, but 4 and 5 were better than the original show it was continuing
Honestly, only the first one “continued” the show, though. The rest is more like a reboot.

The Star War movies manage the unique feature of getting worse with each one.
Besides Wild, Wild West there were a couple tv movies with mostly original casts in the 1980s that worked well. “Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis” although it unfortunately had Stella Stevens instead of Tuesday Weld as Thalia Menninger. Fortunately Maynard G Krebs got off the desert island he was stranded on for 20 years to make it. “Get Smart Again” also. The subsequent tv series was dismal though, except for the line where Siegfried’s daughter told Max and 99’s son “you thibk you were lied to because your parents said they worked for a greeting card company? My father said he was the doctor on a cruise ship”. “Return of the Man from UNCLE” would have been better if they teamed Napoleon and Illya. It did feature Anthony Zerbe as the villain. Anything with Zerbe, Strother Martin or Warren Oates has something going for it.
It had Barney’s son on the team.
