Temporary Internet Files Cache Problems (WinME)

Ok, my temporary internet file cache is corrupted or something because it won’t let me download flash, java, shockwave, ZIP files or anything else except HTML. It doesn’t remember that IE and Outlook Express are my default clients, it asks me to make them the default every time I reboot. The TIF doesn’t save cookies.

I went to the “Amount of MB used” part of the cache and it’s set at 0, so I tried changing it to more than 0. Then it came up with the error message that I must set it to a value between 1 and 0. I tried 1. Same error. I tried 0. Same error.

Any idea how to fix this?

Thanks.

Off the top of my head shimgheghi, how much space is available on your hard drive? If, eh, none, then delete some stuff.

And sorry for getting your name wrong, its a bit of a mouthful.

Heh, no problem.

I’ve got a gig of free space, so I don’t think that’s the problem. This whole thing started when I installed PopNot, didn’t like it, uninstalled it, but it kept trying to run in the startup of the computer. After the 15 day trial period, the thing came up with a box saying I should switch over. I said “No”, so it completely froze my computer unless I ran it in safe mode. I deleted all I could find with PopNot on my computer in safe mode, mainly what was still in the file. Then I ran Ad-Aware and deleted everything I had seen on that, to make partly sure there wasn’t a hidden ad doing the damage.

Does that help?
