I’m listening to my Johnny Cash collection and it occurred to me that I’m not quite sure what a “Tennessee flat-top box” is. I know “box” is slang for a stringed instrument (especially a guitar), and I know what a flat-topped guitar is. But is a Tennessee flat-top box something distinct from any old flat-topped guitar from the Volunteer state?
