Tie Breaker in the 4th set.
Fed takes the tiebreak this time! We’re going five.
Correction, it went 5. :o
Federer is killing him in the 5th set. 4-1 Federer right now.
And no tiebreakers, so he has to break Federer a bunch to get it.
5-1. This baby is over soon.
Federer gets a second break for 5-1 and will serve for the match momentarily. He’s coming on strong and Benneteau looks dispirited.
What player has won the most matches coming back from 2 sets down?
Federer wins easily in the 5th.
And there it is! Federer holds at love and survives to the fourth round. He’ll play Xavier Malisse on Monday.
I’m on vacation is I didn’t get to see Nadal’s match. Would have loved to see it. I’m hoping for a Murray win.
John McEnroe played in the Wimbledon singles and doubles finals four straight years (81 - 84), winning six of them, but I don’t think he played mixed. He certainly didn’t reach the final.
I’m sorry you didn’t get to see it, it was a fantastic match.
I would love to see either Federer get one more, Murray finally win and come out from under the dark cloud that follows him, or Tsonga, just cause I adore Tsonga.
I think that the odds are pretty good that one of the three will at least make it to the finals.
This afternoon I was trying to picture the chaos if Nadal and Federer had lost in the second and third rounds at Wimbledon on consecutive days. That would’ve been crazy.
As if poor Murray isn’t under enough pressure! Can you image the expectations if both Fed and Nadal were out.
Right now I think Tsonga’s coming out of that half of the draw.
The one thing both me and my wife noted was that Bennateau looked absolutely shattered from the third set onwards. Federer? immaculate and barely broke sweat throughout even though he was chasing down everything.
Worth Noting from ESPN article
Did the match start without Errani? Ouch.
And Roddick is out to Ferrer after destroying him in the first set.
Looks like Murray is going to have to finish his match tomorrow. Will they really stop play at 11?
And they play on! Props to Baghdatis for not protesting the decision. He is a good guy.
