Term for an undercover officer who loses their handler while on a case?

Is there a term for an undercover officer who is put in the unfortunate situation of losing their control agent, and thus their connection to the real world, while undercover?

The agent will be given a way to reach an alternate contact(usually the contact’s superior) and a code number to give him or her. This alternate contact will usuallyonly have this phrase to identify the agent, and will have to make the call as to whether or not to pull said agent.

fired?

Thanks for the responses, but I was specifically looking for a slang term for an undercover cop in that situation, like when an agent goes against authority and is termed “rogue”.

You might refer to him as “orphaned”. No idea if this term is in actual use, but it seems obvious.

Fucked?

This happened in the movie “The Departed”. Very violent movie.

Rōnin?

S.O.L.

Even undercover guys have cell phones. It may take some time, but they’ll get opportunities to call without being observed. Maybe a female officer dressed as a hooker can drop by and talk without raising suspicion.
