Looking for the term, if there is one, and/or a list/glossary of commonly used noun phrases. Things like “thinly disguised caricature” and “blanket statement” and “things that go bump in the night” and “red herring”. I guess some of the shorter ones are idioms but I wouldn’t think the longer ones are. Maybe a few are cliché phrases, but I’m only interested in noun phrases, and not things like “it was a dark and stormy night”. Any ideas?
