Terror attack soon?

Wouldn’t look good on me, either. A turban would probably make my head look huge, and what are they thinking asking us to wear white robes? It’s about to be Labor Day!

These guys are trying constantly, so I don’t think this new tape necessarily means anything. They also give periodic warnings, but I don’t remember any that came right before a major attack.

Applause!
L Nemo, thanks for a good laugh

There is a school of thought that the best way to predict the future is by using a Futures Market.

One one such market currently is marketing the chance that:

Islamic terrorists will hit the U.S. homeland again while Bush is president

Shares are trading at $55.

When you buy a share it *will be worth $100 if a major terrorist attack (think 9/11, Madrid, London), claimed by or attributed to islamic terrorists, occurs in the United States while George W. Bush is President. Otherwise, it will be worth nothing. *

Yet strangely, a genuine futures market failed to spot the eruption of Pinatubo, let alone the Kobe earthquake.

Well. the attack has come. Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter, is dead. Prelininary reports suggest the involvement of a toxic chemical, perhaps in a gel-like form.

Another icon of Wesern ulture destroyed. I fear the terrorists are winning.

But the page says

What are X$?

Agreed, plus i really like bacon and ham, can’t see giving that up…

Thus the most famous recipe for fallout-shelter cuisine is born: Duct L’Orange!

Sailboat

LOL!!! Funniest thing I’ve read in weeks! Thank you for lifting my spirits on a dreary, gray afternoon!

Give credit where credit is due. Little Nemo, you just wrote a whole skit for SNL.

Don’t know if a warning is mandated but there are plenty of examples of advanced threats and also demands to convert. The Fox news crew certainly used conversion to their benefit. Also recall a Frontline program where journalists who interviewed Islamic factions were constantly pressured into discussing religion and conversion.

[hijack] (no pun intended)

If you are interested in terror attacks or natural disasters in the US, I can share this much with you. To date, I have only been on a cruise ship twice: During Sept. 11th and during Katrina.

My wife has insisted that we take a cruise again next August.

And no, I’m not paid to post by bomb shelter construction companies… [/hijack]

Are you serious? I don’t think that Allah wrote a manuscript on how to conduct a terror campaign. The Islamic flavored fundamentalism that endorses terrorism makes it up as they go. They also don’t have a universal demand, such as conversion of heathens, but rather just need to find an outlet for their hatred, and conversely, their leaders use this hatred to solidify and consolidate their own power.

Absolutley brilliant.

Duct L’orange, Conversions on the 9/11 charter flights, gambling on when we’re going to get hit…only in America. The Terrorists don’t have a chance because they just don’t understand their audience.

Are the cultures so different that it makes sense to them and seems silly to us?

[quote]
Given that Bush used the same strategy to force Saddam to essentially disrobe and bend over while his subjects looked on…I’m going to have to give this one a big “YES.” All we know about each other is that we have been instructed to hate each other. “Cultural Understanding” undermines the war effort.

coding fix on aisle 12 please…

How the freak did I miss this? I scout these boards for any mention of ME. Crimeny I’m sorry for the delay Eleusis.

I linked to a futures market that is run as a game using play money and prizes, rather than send anyone into a IRL provider using real money that I have no idea about.

“X$” is the game’s play money.
