Disney didn’t go for it all that much, but they did have a short called Mother Goose Goes Hollywood (1938) filled with caricatures

And, of course, they put a lot of them into Aladdin because of all of Robin Williams’ impersonations. He bragged about making Disney go all Warner Brothers, but Disney really had been there earlier.

I can’t believe a kid would enjoy it. But I remember watching it and not wondering what the heck I was seeing!
