I’m not willing to start another thread to test this, but what if you begin the post with an open and close bracket ?

Will that do a full stop on the tooltip text or will the mouseover text pick up after the close bracket?

I wish more of our longwinded dopers would use the brackets. In particular it is useful for those posts that have 2 paragraphs of introductory exposition before getting to the point. You put brackets on the exposition and only the meat of the post shows up in mouseover.
