Test messaging with advanced scheduling from laptop - does it exist?

I’m looking for a program that will allow me to send text messages (SMS) from my laptop. I need the ability to both link the SMS messages from my phone with my laptop and to send these messages on dates and times of my choosing. (I have this ability to schedule ahead of time on my work phone.) Does such a program exist? I already looked at one called Pushbullet, but it has no advanced scheduling component.)

Log in to your cell phone account from your laptop. With mine I can do texting from my user account on their web site. Bookmark your way to it. I used it back in the day when we only had one phone (my wife always had it) and I wanted to send her a text so as to not interrupt whatever she was doing.

Looks like there are some Android apps that will let you send future-scheduled text messages from your phone.

iPhone appears not to support this, but there’s an app that will let you write them and then will remind you when it’s time to send them.

It’s likely possible to write some scripts that would access a text-sending API from your laptop, but you might need to get a separate number to do so. I don’t see anything that does quite exactly what you want.

Yes, with (i)Calendar on a Mac and AT&T (and Sprint?). It can be done and very easily. I can email my phone number and it sends me a text of the body 6051234567@txt.att.net. But it often jumbles it up so need to do much editing to make it a sensible email text to SMS receipt transition.

And iCal has an alarm option to send an email alert. Easy as pie!

Never done multiple email addresses or repeating events - it also requires your computer to be full on awake (no sleep or hibernation), iCal open?, and maybe even Mail to be open; otherwise it sends when your computer wakes up.

I have used MightyText for managing texts on my computer but don’t know if it does scheduling.

You specifically mentioned doing this from a laptop, but Tracker is an Android app that will let you do all kinds of things based on various events, and may include a scheduling feature. Learning curve is a bit steep, though.

It might be worth looking into If This Then That. It’s a free service that lets you hook up actions and triggers. It’s a bit like Pushbullet, in fact, but it does support scheduling.

The “Delayed Time iMessage” shortcut seems to be able to do the job, but I haven’t tried it myself. And sending/receiving iPhone SMS messages from a MacBook is dead simple, so that part at least would work out fine, but hmm I guess maybe you’d have to send the texts from the iPhone. Dunno but it’s worth checking out.

This might be useful:Gizmodo link. The IFTTT app previously mentioned shows up as does an app called Pulse SMS. I’ve never used the Pulse SMS and I’ve never used IFTTT for this purpose so I have no idea how well this works, but you’re not the only one looking for a solution to this question.

Every phone has an email address; generically it’s <phone#> @ <provider>. See Disheavel’s post #4 for the AT&T version. You could send an email to the phone, that comes into the phone as a text using any email client that allows you to send delayed/scheduled messages.

When the user responds, it goes back to the email address from which it was sent. Not sure the specifics of your “need the ability to both link the SMS messages from my phone with my laptop” requirement is & if this suggestion meets it.
